A wonderful review! I am honored...

I’d like to share an experience which Jo & I had this past week. My intention is to possibly help others, current and future.
I personally had a chance to read a book, “Living on a PEG” about one’s own experience. I was very impressed.
Will it ever be a “World’s Best Seller?”…… No, but it wasn’t meant to be. I do think it could help someone who is in the hospital getting a feeding tube for the first time. Has it been too long ago for you to remember what it was like?
Being told you couldn’t eat or drink, needing a feeding tube, not knowing what was expected of you after going home, not knowing anyone else on a feeding tube to talk to, or unaware of this great site, along with all the caring people associated with such a site.
I would personally like to see every new feeding tube patient, while in the boring hospital, to receive a copy, “Living on a PEG” to possibly just come to realize, they’re not alone, there are others. I believe the psychological aspect of a simple paperback would do wonders for all the fears of not knowing and the feeling of being all alone. I would also tell patients about the caring and knowledgeable people of OLEY FOUNDATION…INSPIRE.com
Another experience was listening to jteeter45′s music. I realize everyone has a different taste in music.
Will it ever out sell the Beatles, Elvis, or Michael Jackson? …No, but I do think that a few just might receive inspiration from listening to them, maybe not every day, but then who listens to the same songs day-in-day-out.
The first song I heard on his site follows his book. It’s called “She’s The Kind Of Woman” (or ‘Karen’s Song”).
After hearing the song, I rushed to the bedroom, laptop-in-hand, for Jo to watch the video.
I handed her the earplugs, paused her program, and started the video.
I was reading from the video, glancing at her once-in-a-while, but really couldn’t see her eyes as she appeared to also be reading the pictures. When the video ended, our eyes met and with tears in her eyes, she says,
” I love that song. Every word! Oh, how I would LOVE to have that song.”
It may take us older folks to appreciate the love that is expressed in this song between a husband and wife.
The love that everyone seeks, young or old, but rarely find.
If you are into rap, heavy metal, etc. you’re probably not going to enjoy it. However, if you go to church occasionally, then maybe.
jteeter45 has made the offer, why not give him a moment of your time?
Just Friendly Suggestions & Our Experience
Thanks Again Jack

Gimme A Keystone Light... Push!

So, I just finished a nice early Sunday afternoon walk. A great time to enjoy a beverage!

I brought my feed line and a syringe/beaker out into the sunshine. I plugged the feed line into my button and poured 30 ml of Keystone Light into the syringe/beaker and waited for the pause that refreshes...

And waited...   And waited...

Apparently the carbonation makes beer -- and to be fair and balanced, it WAS a Light beer -- not heavy enough for gravity flow.

Who knew??

I had to go back in and get a syringe with a plunger. Push -- slow and easy -- I enjoyed my beverage.

BTW One very nice outcome...  I belched (and tasted it!)!

Have a Great P.E.G. day!

Getting to know... ME!

Hi Everyone!
As a 'getting to know the author' promotion,

I am offering "Living On A PEG" for FREE
Here's the Link: (SMASHWORDS ebook) "Living On A PEG"

See synopsis below.

BTW: I'd appreciate a REVIEW when you finish!

"I want to tell my story in a way that celebrates life." That's how Jack Teeter describes his latest work. The author is a long-term throat cancer survivor. Every day of life is a blessing, but there have been stumbling blocks along the way.
Recently residual radiation nerve damage caused all foods and liquids to aspirate directly into his lungs. “I now take all of my nourishment through a PEG tube in my stomach,” he said, “man, I miss tacos!”
But rather than give up, the author decided to write a book.
“We’re very proud of this work,” Jack’s wife, Karen, said, “and we hope it’s an inspiration to cancer survivors everywhere.”

Sometimes I get depressed

Yesterday I experienced a deep, dark period of depression.

So... I turned out the lights, pulled up some classical music on iTunes, and lay down to rest.

I wasn't thinking about my PEG tube experience, per se. I wasn't feeling ill -- in fact I've felt so much better since I've been on Home Enteral Nutrition. The weather hasn't been great, but I've still been out walking every day or at least on my old stand-by treadmill. I've not had any bad news. And best of all, I'm loved.

Never mind... I feel better!
